The Gold Technology Group has conducted gold industry funded research and professional development since 1984. For over 40 years the Gold Technology Group has completed projects covering a wide range of topics within the areas of gold ore processing and environmental management of tailings. The Group is based at the Western Australian School of Mines at Curtin University in Perth and Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

The most recent research project completed in 2026 conducted research in unleached gold, oxidants and process model development as well as delivered a comprehensive training and professional development program.
